Code of Conduct
St Mark’s Lions Arena is a place for fellowship, recreation and healthy competition. All players, spectators and visitors are expected to reflect Christian values through their words, actions and conduct.
1. Show Respect
Treat all players, referees, coaches, volunteers and spectators with dignity, kindness and fairness, regardless of age, ability or background.
2. Play with Good Sportsmanship
Compete honestly, follow the rules and accept decisions respectfully. Encourage others and remain humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
3. Use Appropriate Language
Swearing, insults, bullying, threats, abusive language and disrespectful behaviour are not permitted.
4. No Violence or Aggression
Fighting, intimidation, deliberate physical harm, dangerous play or aggressive conduct will not be tolerated.
5. Promote Christian Fellowship
Support one another, resolve disagreements peacefully and remember that relationships and fellowship are more important than winning.
6. Respect the Facilities
Keep the court and surrounding areas clean. Do not damage equipment, fencing, lighting, furniture or church property. Place all rubbish in the bins provided.
7. Follow Safety Requirements
Use the court responsibly, wear suitable footwear and equipment, and follow all directions given by clergy, supervisors, coaches or authorised volunteers.
8. Maintain Modesty and Appropriate Conduct
Wear suitable sporting attire and behave appropriately at all times, remembering that the court forms part of the church grounds.
9. Protect Children and Young People
Children must be appropriately supervised. All users must respect personal boundaries and comply with the Parish’s child-safety requirements.
10. Respect Booking Times
Use the court only during approved times and leave promptly at the conclusion of the booking so the next group may enter.
11. Follow Parish Directions
The Parish reserves the right to stop play or ask any person to leave where behaviour is unsafe, disrespectful or inconsistent with this Code of Conduct.
